Montgomery County Urban Forestry

Two Rivers Tree Alliance names Randy Worcester as President

Clarksville, Tennessee February 1, 2008 – Today, the Two Rivers Tree Alliance announced it has chosen Randy Worcester as its founding President.

The Two Rivers Tree Alliance (TRTA) is a group of citizen foresters working to educate the public on the value of trees, sponsor tree activities, and is an information network of informed individuals willing to help the public with specific problems concerning trees.
Mr. Worcester stated that he welcomes the opportunity to lead the organization during its formative period.

“I am honored at being entrusted with guiding this dedicated group of volunteers. We’ll be working closely with the Clarksville Tree Board, Clarksville City Forester, and the TSU-Montgomery County Extension office to raise the awareness of urban forestry in Montgomery County.”

Mr. Worcester is a graduate of the Tennessee Tree Steward course which he is encouraging others to attend. Volunteers will develop a working understanding of basic tree biology and physiology, the relationship between tree health and soils, tree identification, planting, maintenance, pruning and site selection for tree plantings. More information about attending the course can be found on the TRTA web site at http://www.orgsites.com/tn/trta/ .
